MHP Leader Devlet Bahçeli sent a response to Halk TV regarding Zülfü Livaneli’s allegations about the late Bülent Ecevit on Halk TV.
Bahçeli, for Bülent Ecevit, said, “He was a true gentleman, a respected statesman, a consistent and national leftist, and a person who did not conflict with the values of the Turkish nation.”
A statesman, consistent and national…
The message of MHP leader Bahçeli is as follows:
“We served together with our late Prime Minister, Mr. Bülent Ecevit, in the 57th Republic Government, which lasted 3.5 years. On this occasion, I had the opportunity to get to know him better. He was a gentleman, a respected statesman, a consistent and national leftist, and a person who did not conflict with the values of the Turkish nation. I witnessed at every opportunity that the late Ecevit sincerely defended Turkey’s rights and interests.
It is both praise and illegal
In this state, I would like to share with you that I reject Zülfü Livaneli’s baseless allegations, baseless accusations and even baseless slanders regarding the late Ecevit. It is both a crime and an injustice to discuss the devotion of the late Bülent Ecevit to the state and the nation.
I present these feelings and thoughts to the public’s knowledge and appreciation….I would like to thank you for the sensitivity you will show.”
What did Livaneli say?
Zülfü Livaneli had the following to say:
“Both Ecevit and Baykal were brought to the head of their parties so that leftists could not come to power in the municipalities and the government. These are the people who tied the head of the left and misled their way. Ecevit came side by side with the Fethullah Gülen organization, gave them quotas, offered them all kinds of opportunities. Tayyip Erdoğan, who was the first to place the congregation in the state. It is not Bulent Ecevit, but Bulent Ecevit. Long story short, people like Ecevit and Baykal are not leftists, they are typical Turkish nationalists who dislike the left.
